Bookbabbler Pamela has reviewed Foretold for us…

Foretold is the fourth and final instalment of the Demon Trappers series. Of the course of the series, Riley Blackthorne has been put to the ultimate tests. She has had to endure the death of her father, Paul Blackthorne and feel helpless when he is stolen from his grave and reanimated. Riley has faced terrifying demons and debt collectors, still made it to school and stopped the end of the world. And all the time, gruff and infuriating as he might be, Riley has always had Denver Beck to help pull her through.

This time, it is Beck who needs Riley’s help and guidance (not that he’d ever admit it) when he is called back home to Sadlersville. His mother, Sadie, is dying and Beck wants to do right by her, even though she has never shown him a scrap of love in his entire life.

The last thing Beck wants is for Sadie to poison Riley’s mind with her venom. But Riley is thick skinned and knows that being in love with someone like Beck means accepting him as he is, despite not knowing what secrets he might be hiding.

And while Riley and Beck are in the middle of the swamp, back home in Atlanta a war is brewing, and the master trappers aren’t sure which side they are on.

Foretold is without a doubt one of the best YA books I’ve read this year. Packed full of action and adventure, inner demons and slimy outer ones, romance and soul searching, there is something for everyone. It was pitch perfect and I didn’t want it to end. I cannot wait to see what this author has for us next.

Thanks Pamela and thank you to Macmillan for sending us a copy to review.
