Review of Losing Lila by Sarah Alderson
Last year I read Hunting Lila and became a huge fan of Sarah Alderson, so I was really excited to receive a copy of the sequel ‘Losing Lila’.
Losing Lila begins with Alex and Lila on the run from The Unit. Alderson instantly jumps into the action packed adventure that had me so hooked in the first installment. They need to keep ahead of The Unit, but Lila is desperate to get back to California to find her brother and see if he is ok. Lila knows that if she goes back to California she needs to destroy The Unit, but how will she do this and what will happen to her in the process?
We meet a lot of the characters from Hunting Lila including Suki and Key. There is a lot more of the plot devoted to them, so we are able to see what they are really like.
The chapters are quite short and this made me want to keep on reading and reading – I had to find out what would happen. There are quite a few surprises that I wasn’t expecting and this really had me on the edge of my seat.
These characters have been so well written that I feel like I know them. Lila is such a great heroine and I particularly felt that she had changed and grown up a lot in this book -she seems much more decisive. Alex is still an amazing character and he seems even hotter in the sequel than before if that is possible! At the end of the book there is even a short extract from Alex’s point of view and I loved seeing things from his angle.
In the space of a year, Sarah Alderson has become one of my favourite authors and has created an un-putdownable, addictive read.
I hope that we might hear more from Lila and Alex in the future. Please!
Thank you to Simon and Schuster for sending me a copy to review.
