Bookbabbler Wendy has reviewed Matilda’s Cat for us…

Matilda’s Cat is presented in a different way to the normal story book as it written by Matilda’s hand in pencil, with bits crossed out as the story progresses and she finds out what her cat does and does not like.

Matilda is dressed up as a cat and is playing with her cat. The story starts with ‘Matilda’s cat likes playing with wool’ and it evident from the illustrations that it is Matilda that likes playing with the wool and not the cat. On the next page ‘playing with wool’ is crossed out and the next item added – boxes. It follows this style till at the end there is a big long list of things that Matilda’s cat does not like! And the one item that Matilda’s cat does like – Matilda.

The illustrations are lovely and the cat’s expressions are very funny, anyone that has animals will relate to how Matilda wants to play and her cat doesn’t!

Thanks Wendy and thank you to Macmillan for sending us a copy to review.
